Faith Based Partners
Faith-Based TeamMates Partnerships Outline
The faith-based organization:
Determines collectively to include TeamMates as part of their outreach:
- as a congregation; as a mission; as a board or council.
- as an education/community service or youth service committee.
Identifies an individual or group who will be the liaison between the local TeamMates chapter and the faith-group.
Creates an annual action plan that focuses on inviting and celebrating mentors.
Informs the congregation of the new partnership and includes that news in the church newsletter, bulletin or web site.
Chooses a week or month to highlight the new partnership and invite additional participation from the TeamMates office.
Invites members who are already mentors to speak to the congregation, small groups or individuals about TeamMates, the expectations and the process for becoming a mentor.
Chooses to have all the mentors trained at the faith-based site.
Chooses to participate with any school in the community; selects one particular school, or asks individuals to select a school of their choice.
Organizes informal meetings at the faith site for mentors to share their experiences and support each other in this endeavor - creates a "Mentor Club."
Calls on the local TeamMates chapter for continued support and on-going training.
